Standard Terms of Business

Cleanness All grades must be devoid of dirt, nonferrous metals, or any foreign material. Excessive rust and corrosion are also not acceptable. However, negligible amounts may be allowed if unavoidable in customary preparation and handling.

Off-grade Material The inclusion of a negligible amount of metallic material exceeding size limitations or failing quality requirements shall not alter the classification if shown to be unavoidable in customary preparation and handling.

Residual Alloys "Free of alloys" means any steel alloys are residual, not intentionally added. Residual alloying elements must not exceed specific percentages, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

  • Nickel: 0.45%
  • Molybdenum: 0.10%
  • Chromium: 0.20%
  • Manganese: 1.65%
  • Combined residuals (excluding manganese): Not exceeding 0.60%

Deviations Any deviations from general classifications may be agreed upon mutually between buyer and seller (ISRI, 2017).
